What is the difference between a conventional brake and an air brake?

a conventional uses hydraulics with pistons and air brakes uses well air with valves and brake chambers but only cases that you need them is on big machinery like big rigs its allot safer to use air brakes on big rigs its easier to put in a fail safe than to use hydraulics. when there is no air applied the air chambers spring out and activate the brakes.
conventional brakes you can run a disc brakes but you can only run a drum set up on air
