Here are some more information for Brakes Hoses:

If you have a motorcycle of your own there are some things you should check on a regular basis. Routine maintenance is important for your safety as well as for the safety of others on the road. If you don't have a handbook with specs on your motorcycle, you should try to get one. If that is not possible, you should try to find some information about your motorcycle on the web. There are also workshop manuals available for various models that you can find in auto shops or on the internet. Many of these manuals are available in the form of a CD or DVD.
Keeping up with maintenance on your car is very different from maintaining your motorcycle. You may be able to get by with neglecting some minor things on your car, but with a motorcycle no maintenance aspect is minor. It is unwise to neglect any maintenance detail.
Things you should check daily on your motorcycle
Tires - Make sure both the tires are in good condition.
Tire pressure- It is extremely important to keep tire pressure on or very close to spec.
Oil level - you should always check the oil with the bike on a level ground.
Brakes - check to make sure the brakes are functioning properly.
Lights - All lights should be checked, especially the brake light.
Chain - Check the tension of the chain and make sure it is lubricated well.
Things to check periodically on your motorcycle
Check battery - Make sure all the connections are tight. Also check the electrolyte level on batteries if necessary.
Wheel bearings - Check wheel bearings by grabbing each wheel with it off the ground and see if there is any sideways play.
Swinging arm bearings - Check this with the back wheel off the ground, check for any sideways movement in the swingarm, there should not be any.
Brakes - Check the fluid levels, brake hoses for deterioration, and pads/shoes for thickness.
Cables and levers - These should operate smoothly. You should use a cable oiler to help keep these parts well lubricated.
Nut and bolts - You should go all round the motorcycle with your spanners and check that all nuts, bolts and screws are tight.
The suggestions made here are for basic maintenance. Other larger jobs would obviously have to be done by a mechanic. It is a good idea to have a mechanic check for routine maintenance at least once or twice a year just in case you miss something in your routine maintenance.

How To Repair Brake Lines
Sometimes, the brake line can get pinched, damaged or worn out and will need replacing. Most often, the flexible hoses at the front wheel are replaced rather than the rear rigid lines.
To repair the brake line on the front wheel of the vehicle, first obtain a new flexible brake hose from the auto parts store of your choice. Raise the wheel in question, place jack stands under the car for safety, and remove the wheel. Removing the wheel is just for ease of access. Usually, there is a sliding clip or a bracket mounted to the upper strut or upper support arm that holds the brake line.
Next, unscrew the brake line from the end of the rigid brake line, then unscrew from the front caliper. There will be a gasket between the line and the caliper, usually copper. Your new brake line should have a new gasket. If not, you will need to reuse the old one. A new gasket is recommended.
Install the new line and take care not to cross thread the fittings. When the brake line is installed and the bracket is reattached, loosen the bleed screw at the top of the caliper. Brake fluid and air should begin to seep out. Fill the master cylinder with fluid and reinstall the cap. Close the bleed screw on the caliper. Enlist a friend's help to bleed the brakes. Have your friend pump the brake pedal a few times and hold. Loosen the bleed screw slightly. Fluid should squirt out. The fluid comes out under pressure and is harmful if it gets in your eyes. Wear safety glasses. Use a small hose to direct the fluid into a container.
When the bleed screw is loosened, the pedal will go to the floor. Tighten the bleed screw and tell your assistant to then pump the brakes up again. Continue until you see no air escape from the bleed screw when it is loosened. Reinstall the wheel. Just for safety's sake, bleed all four wheels to make sure no air entered the system when you had the brake line off.
Make sure to check your brakes before taking to the road. If they do not work properly, bleed them again to ensure that all the air is out of the system. Be sure to recheck the fluid level.

I had my car serviced and MoT'd. I had two new front tyres, two front brake hoses replaced and a new bulb.?
I also had to have a new horn rigged up because i had a crash a few months back and my air bags deployed (surprisingly no damage anywhere else...not anywhere!!!)
This has come to a total of £485.86.
My car is a 2000 reg ford focus saloon
Does this seem the right price for the work done?
price wil depend on where you had it done knowing what work was done easy to call a few shops and ask what they would charge to do the same
2004 Kia Optima LX from North America - Comments
What things have gone wrong with the car? To start the car made pinging noises, and I was told afterwards that I had to use a higher grade gas than indicated.
