Here are some more information for Brakes Pads:

One thing that may eventually cause you trouble is your car's brakes. While it is generally known that brake pads will wear down a few times over the life of your automobile, there are other wear items on a vehicles brake system that you need to be aware of. For example, if you have ever been driving and hit your brakes and the brake pedal starts to bounce and the whole car, for a moment, starts to shake, then you will need to probably take a look at your Brake Rotors.
Brake Rotors are thin pieces of metal that the brake pads squeeze in order to slow the car down; these sheets of metal are generally smooth. The may have grooves in them from the brake pads but if those grooves are uniform then there is generally no issue. However, over time, these rotors can wear unevenly, whether by design or due to metal wearing on the rotors from worn down brake pads. In these cases, you may be able to turn the rotors and prolong their life, but in most cases, it is just easier and safer to simply replace them.
If you are mechanically inclined then you will be happy to know that the job is actually quite easy. If you are not comfortable with doing the job yourself you can always have a shop do it for you.
First, order some rotors for your vehicle from an online Discount Auto Parts store. Jack up your vehicle and remove the wheel. After you remove the wheel You will want to remove the brake caliper. This is the housing where the brake pads reside. When removing the caliper, you have to be careful to not damage the break line that is attached to it.
Once the caliper is removed the rotor should simply slide off. It may take a little work to get them off, especially if the rotors have never been removed. Once it is off, place the new rotor on and make sure that the rotor is firm against the back of the axle plate. Then replace the caliper and the wheel. Repeat on the other wheels as necessary.
The braking system on a car is vital to its safe operation, and therefore, your safety.. Having a failure can be costly, and not just in terms of money. However, there are a few things to look out for to let you know that problems are around the corner. Your car will tell you if your Brake Rotors are on the skids or if your brake pads are wearing. Knowing the signs can help you in the future.

Brake Pads and an Effective Brake System
Safety is one of the most pressing concerns among motorists. It is a good thing that there are various vehicle components that make it a lot safer to drive. These include the air bags, the bumpers, the lighting system, and the braking system. No matter how a driver loves speed, having to stop a vehicle is plain necessary. To make sure that the vehicle stops upon command, the components that make up the braking system must be in good condition. These are the brake rotors, brake master cylinders, brake discs, and the brake pad set.
In all these braking system parts, the brake pads are the most susceptible to getting damaged. They are the ones that press on the brake rotors that move along with the wheels of the vehicle. To effectively stop the vehicle, they generate friction against the rotors so that the vehicle slows down or comes to a full halt. As the rotors stop spinning, the wheels also stop.
The brake pads can be found on both side of the brake caliper. It is made from heat-resistant materials that allow rubbing against the rotor without getting damaged too much due to the amount of heat caused by friction. In the past, the pieces of the brake pad set were made from asbestos and carbon that are bind by resin. Due to the possible hazards caused by asbestos, the material composition of brake pads was altered. Nowadays, brake pads are made from metallic components such as brass, copper, and steel wool. With a semi-metallic composition, a brake pad set nowadays lasts longer as they are tougher. On the other hand, they may sometimes produce a grinding noise as they come in contact with the rotor.
When signs of wear and tear, like a strong smell from behind the wheels, become observable on the brake pads, it is best to replace them immediately. These friction pads require replacement a set so that they get worn out evenly and so that the braking process remains stable. This ensures effective braking that keeps motorists safe and more fully in control of their cars’ motion.

Why are both brakes pads worn on the right side yet left side is barely worn at all?
I have a 92 Accord and both pads on the passenger side are worn down and the driver side is in decent shape. The brake line has been replaced recently so I know its not that.
Your passenger side caliper is sticking. This means that when you press the brakes, the caliper grabs, but when you let back off, the caliper is not releasing, causing the brake pads to drag on the rotor. To fix it you either need to replace the caliper or rebuild it.
