Don't give a thought to the bitter winds along Lake Michigan if you are considering buying a Chevrolet Volt. General Motors recently sent a test fleet of the 2011 Volt to a remote area of Canada 500 miles north of Toronto. But General Motors has also tested for the other extreme – severe heat. Several months ago test vehicles were sent to Death Valley and its 100-plus degree climate. Want more assurances? The Volt was also driven through the mountains of Tennessee. GM is determined to work out any problems in preproduction with its first mass-market extended-range electric car.

Just how will the Volt fare in the Midwest? Well, it survived the desert, so it must be tough. It survived the mountains so it must have endurance and control. is it a high milage car?? valve timing might be an issue like a slipped timming belt. if you get it started and it takes a long time to get it to rev up acts like you are slowly pussing gas id say timing belt slipped
