If your business involves the constant use of air tools or pneumatic tools like for example the auto repair trade then it is very possible that you rely heavily on an air compressor to get the work done. Such an air compressor has to be reliable and powerful to guarantee you a continual power supply all day every day.
The Ingersoll Rand 2475n5 air compressor most definitely steps up to the mark, ensuring quality, reliability and power - but at a cost, because this mean machine comes at the top end of the market. However, and probably more importantly, it comes highly recommended by many who consider an air compressor as the most important piece of machinery for their business.
So why does the Ingersoll Rand 2475n5 stand out in the crowd?
Ingersoll Rand 2475n5 Figures At A Glance:
*Tank size: 80 gallon

*Voltage 230V
*CFM @ 175PSI 16.8
*Max Pressure 175PSI
*Dimensions 26" x 38" x 70"

This air compressor sports an 80 gallon double cylinder tank which, like most compressors of this capacity is in the vertical position and is stabilized and kept off the floor by a hollow ring around the base.
The actual body of the Ingersoll Rand 2475n5 is made from cast iron and you will find all the usual pressure gauges and switches as you would expect, the one surprising feature is the way in which this beast can be moved around with relative ease.
Everyone who has ever worked relying upon air compressors will tell you that the main bug bear can be the unit over heating, well, this shouldn't be a problem with the Ingersoll Rand 2475n5. The cylinders on this model are well ventilated meaning that this machine will keep going even under the greatest pressure. There are also finned copper inter coolers additionally which help control the amount of heat generated by the compressor.
This 80 gallon tank model runs on 230V and can produce a maximum 5HP. Believe me, you won't get any of the shuddering and shaking you get on some compressors from this machine! As for noise - which can be really bad with some air compressors - the Ingersoll Rand 2475n5 is relatively quiet, not silent by any means but the noise is well within acceptable limits.
The maintenance on this compressor is fairly minimal and very easy most likely due to the fact that it has a splash lubrication system rather than the more messy oil pumps. You will also that the Ingersoll Rand 2475n5 air compressor has a very useful manual drain for use in maintenance.
Starter kits can be bought with the compressor which contain everything you need to keep it in tip top condition inducing lubricant and air filter replacements.
In conclusion, if you are looking to purchase an air compressor which is going to last the pace then you should seriously look at the Ingersoll Rand 2475n5.
Rather than just one compressor there is actually a range of compressors within this this model number, varying in size and capacity depending on your needs.

Your Guide To Popular Air Tools
The Air tools also known as pneumatic air tool is quick, reliable, efficient, powerful and yet safest tool. It is convenient to use and is replacing the conventional electric tools.
An air tool, as the name implies, runs on compressed air, which is generated by the air compressor.
This tool has successfully replaced the electric tools. Air tools are more powerful than traditional electric tools and can do heavy-duty jobs without any difficulty.
The higher torque and higher RPM in these tools helps to get the job done quickly. These tools are versatile and easily interchangeable. Air tools are the safest option to other sources.
These tools are becoming irreplaceable and gaining popularity due to their high performance uses for all tasks. The tools have proved wrong the popular belief of being less powerful and sheer waste of money. On the Contrary it has been established as powerful, sturdy and money saving options that are capable of handling every task.
For operating the tools what you need is an air compressor. You need to choose the compressor good for your air tool. There are specifically two general models of air compressors, which are suitable to these tools. These compressors are home air compressor and business or commercial air compressor.
Home Air Compressor:
Compressed-air power tools can dramatically decrease the amount of time spent on a project. Many homeowners will use smaller, portable units (either hand-carried or wheeled) that move easily from the garage to the house, yard or roof.
Common air tools such as brad nailers, reversible drills, and impact wrenches require about 0.5 CFM (Cubic feet per minute/units in which air flow is measured).
It is important to know if the compressor you purchase will drive the tool you need for your project. For example, smaller air nailers run on 2 to 5 CFM at 70 to 90 PSI, while larger shears, sanders and polishers require up to 10 or more CFM and 100 to 120 PSI.
Business or commercial air compressor:
Air compressors used for business/commercial applications are often classified "industrial grade." They're packed with features that let you take on more demanding jobs with more horsepower, more CFM, more PSI and more (longer) run times.
Though some industrial-grade compressors are portable, many are stationary units with large-capacity, ASME certified air tanks (up to 120 gallons), greater HP, more CFM air volume and faster recovery time to run a wide variety of air tools for as long as you need them to do the job.
There are almost all types of tools that are powered conventionally by means of electricity are available as air tools. It includes Impact Wrenches, Ratchets, Air Cutting Tools, Air Hammers, Grinders, Sanders / Polishers / Buffers, Needle / Chisel / Piston Scalers, Screwdrivers, Air Nutrunners, Pulse Tools, DC Electric Systems, Calibration Equipment, Chipping Hammers, Rivet Busters etc. the peculiar features of air tool makes possible for more wide purposes.

What kind of air compressor is good for me?
I have been working on cars for a while with basic tools, no power tools really. Now I want to start doing body work and just have air tools to make it all easier. So I would like to have an overall air compressor that can handle everything. I don't know quite much on the subject, but I am currently reading up on it. So I'm just curious, what should I look for? What should the CFM be to handle all the tools I want? How big of a tank should I get?
At least a 20 gallon tank, 30 would be better. Total up the CFM requirements of the tools you're looking to buy, then get a compressor that will handle those requirements. What you're asking is too broad to answer with any certainty.
