Creating success in business and life takes time and energy. If you don't have enough time and energy to focus on the things that matter the most to you, you probably have weak boundaries. Most of my clients, colleagues, and friends seem to struggle with not having enough time. There can be many reasons for this, however, it is my assumption that weak boundaries are usually part of the problem. Do you have a hard time saying no? Do you feel like your time is being wasted or that you're being taken advantage of? What are you tolerating? What are you doing because you feel like you have to? Weak boundaries are inherited from your parents. They were your role models, so if they had weak boundaries, you learned that it was normal and healthy to say yes when you really wanted to say no. You may have learned that saying no was selfish, even narcissistic.
If your parents didn't honor your boundaries, if they pushed past your "no", then you learned that you didn't deserve to have boundaries. Saying no trips a lot of people up, but it is a learnable skill. Being able to say no is the bedrock of healthy boundaries. It is very important to be able to easily say no when someone, either intentionally or not, is trying to take advantage of you or is wasting your time. The consequence of not setting boundaries when you should is frequently much greater than you realize. Whenever you say yes to something, you are inadvertently saying no to many other things. For example, let's say a friend asks you to drive them to the airport, and you say yes out of habit or a sense of obligation.
The airport is two hours away so this will take four hours out of your day. That is four hours that you could have been marketing your business, writing your book, getting a massage, servicing a client, closing a sale, or making love. By saying yes to your friend, you were automatically saying no to all of these things. Think of all the new and wonderful things you could begin saying "yes" to if you just allowed yourself to say "no" more often.
Imagine that you volunteer with a local non-profit. You used to be passionate about what they did, but your interests have changed, and now the 5 hours per week that you spend volunteering for them feels like an obligation. You're no longer enjoying yourself or feeling satisfied by your sense of contribution, but you keep doing it because you feel like you should. By saying no, you could begin saying yes to your current interests. You would be saying yes to your authentic self, your values, your passions, and living the best life you can. Perhaps you would find a new volunteer opportunity that is more engaging and heartfelt for you; or perhaps you would finally find time to begin working on a different goal that you've been procrastinating on. And, the number one best reason to say no more often ... drum roll please ... is so that you have more time and energy for manifesting your dreams!
EXERCISE - SAYING NO
- Get out your favorite writing instrument and make a list of anything and everything that you are tolerating in your life - anything that may not be aligned with your deeper values.
- Now go back over the list and decide which things you will begin saying "no" to.
- make plans to have any necessary conversations to create closure or renegotiate previous agreements.
- Now, for the next week, make a rock-solid commitment to say "no" to absolutely everything that does not serve you or your highest good. This last step is a chance to build your "no muscle". This is not selfish. Your "highest good" might include being of service to others.

Use Native American Drums For Spiritual Journeys
Native American drums are arguably the most recognized American Indian instruments among Indian and non American Indian people alike. Drums for many generations have certainly been at the hub of Native American lifestyle, forming what has become the vehicle of religion and spirituality as well as social gatherings where a pow wow drum is at the forefront.
Indian leaders in North America history have all used drums in various ways to interact with a higher power known to most as the Great Spirit. To Native people, Indian drums are much more than just decorations or beautiful musical instruments.
American Indian drums are believed to speak to the drummer. Native drums being made in a circle represent the earth and life. The most recognized being hoop drums and shaman drums which are Indian hand drums used in many personal healing and religious ceremonies as well as public ceremonies such as a Native American powwow.
The skin of the animal that is pulled over the ring brings with it unique characteristics of the spirit of the animal and brings a sense of life to the drum when played. Many people think of hitting a drum to make a sound, but to Native American drummers and those involved in modern drumming groups and drum circles, the desire is to draw out the sound.
The beating drum is compared to the beating of a human heart and is said to represent the heart beat of the earth which is a belief that is classic Native American. Drums in this way become the vehicle to connect one's spirit with that of the earth and the Great Spirit through out the history of Native Americans.
Native American drums have a beautiful culture and because they are so important they are used in not only music but art and dance as well. Adding decoration to a drum becomes a very personal artwork to the owner. The Indian drummer becomes an artist and communicates impressions of his inner feelings and beliefs in his Indian art.
Some American Indian tribes use images of animals to adorn their drums and others use geometric patterns and everything in between. In some Native cultures the drummer will place some item of personal value inside the drum to permanently join himself with his hand drum.
The beautiful Native American images that the artwork on the drums depict is usually painted with natural earth colors taken from nature. Some are dull and others are bright coming from flowers, roots, berries, bark or herbs that are boiled to release their unique earth tones.
Other Native American drums are decorated with iron oxide which is a naturally occurring red rock that can be easily crushed. When mixed with water, it produces a rich orange red dye that is much like paint and is indicative if the surrounding hillsides and rock formations like those of the beautiful Arizona red rock canyons. The region of Sedona is thought to be a special place with spiritual energy like the energy created by American Indian drums.
The intent of Native American Education except for those Indian boarding schools that have tried to stamp out Indian has always involved the sharing of beliefs through music, songs, stories and legends.
It is in harmony with these ways of learning that the communication and cultural importance has been found in the use of drums. If you are interested in the spiritual aspects of life as pertain to Indian beliefs, you will get a lot out of having and playing Native American drums.

how do i remove my brake drum on a 1985 BMW 318i?
i got my passenger side off without a problem. now i cant get the driver side off. i loosened the e brake and adjust the star thing but im not sure wich way to turn the adjuster maybe thats keeping it on but i dont think so.. cuz even if the brakes might be retaining the drum, the center hub should be able to turn seperately. it doesnt. its as if there one. what to do?
Once you get the lug nuts off there nothing hold the drum on beside the rust. I've been doing my own brakes since 1985 and that's really it. It seems that all that heat makes the metal fuse together.
====
You need to get a heavy hammer (about 2 or 3 pounds) and hammer the drum (the flat area, not the round braking area) until it comes loose. Make sure you don't hit it so hard that it warps the surface. Regular hammers doesn't seem to do it.
