1997 Eagle Talon trade for a 1995 Eclipse?

Theres a guy wanting to trade a 95 Eclipse for my talon, his eclipse has a built motor in it and looks pretty good, my talon just really has an exhaust strut bar and cold air intake and racing seats, earlier today i found out that i might have thru a bearing so I told the dude that and he said that was still cool because he was just going to through a built 420a in the the car..... So i was wondering if since he still wanted to trade do you think that his car could be mest up in any way and him not tell me also what all do i need to look for when test driving his car. He also said it was automatic with a shift kit and I heard those can do a number on your tranny?

His car has modifications...most likely it has been driven hard...
The shift kit can't do anything to the trans by itself, but most people who install one abuse the trans.....

obviously if you spun a bearing in the Talon, you drive yours hard also..

Could there be something wrong with his car..of course.. what to look for? odd engine noises
What should you do? If you don't feel good about the deal..pass on it, and start taking the talon apart....
