One of the biggest reasons many people decide that they shouldn't use a barbell for their workouts is that they think it makes them more prone to injury. While it's true that machine do enforce good form and make exercises easier to perform, with a machine workout you're missing out on a lot. Barbell workouts work your whole body, including the muscles that move in concert with each other. And while injuries resulting from barbell workouts are more common, in most cases its because of poor lifting form. If you follow these tips, you should be able to avoid most common injuries resulting from barbell workouts.

First, always make sure that you don't use too much weight when you're working out. Too many people treat the gym, and especially exercises like bench press, like a competition. While it's good to want to lift more, don't do so at the expense of your lifting form. What ultimately happens is the form breaks down, placing strain on joints and other muscles that aren't supposed to be engaged. Not only that, you end up not even working the muscles that you're supposed to be working. Make sure that you're lifting hard, but don't lift so much that your form breaks down, there's no gain from it and you're likely to be injured.

Another good general rule is that whenever you're lifting, always keep your back straight, with a natural arch to it. This is especially important for exercises like squats and dead lifts. In these exercises, keep your head up. This will keep your back arches and make sure that it doesn't round. Never, ever round your back. It's a sure fire way to get injured.

Finally, and this can't be stressed enough, always maintain good form. Maintaining good form is the one and only way to make sure that you prevent an injury while you are lifting. This means no swinging your hips to do barbell curls, flaring your elbows out in bent over rows, or rounding your shoulders during bench press. You will end up preventing an injury and you'll also work the muscles harder that you're supposed to be working.

Barbell weights are perhaps the best way to grow muscle quickly, but only if you use them correctly and safely. Olympic barbell weights are just like any other tool, make sure that you are safe when you use them and they will help you get to where you want to be.

Automotive Tools For The Road Warrior

In today's highly mobile world, many spend countless hours and miles traveling in their automobiles for work and vacation. Modern cars are also far more reliable than the cars of 30 years ago. We have begun to take them for granted. We expect them to just work day in day. However, the time to learn the lessons of basic car repair is not on a deserted highway at 2 am on the way up to the ski slopes! Automobiles still breakdown, have flat tires and batteries run out of juice. Most people think that you have to be a space shuttle engineer to even open the hood of a 21st century car. While it is true that computer technology has drastically changed the way engines and cars operate, there are still some basic car repairs that you can perform in a pinch. You must carry some basic automotive tools with you at all times in order to carry them out.

A basic kit with automotive tools doesn't have to break the bank or require you tow a trailer full of tools. You can go as basic as you want and add more tools as your needs change. The first thing to do is put together a list of automotive tools that you will probably need. (I have included one in this article.) You will be surprised to find that you own many of them already. The real chore is to get them together in one place and carry them with you. You will also need something to carry them in. First see if you have an old duffle bag stuffed in a closet. If not you can probably get one cheap at an Army surplus store. Now it is time to look at our automotive tool list and start collecting them.

Automotive tools for your kit should include the following: set of various screwdrivers (both flat head and Phillips), crescent wrench, pliers, torque wrench, pocket knife, jumper cables, battery terminal brush, spare fuses, 1 quart of oil, duct tape, flashlight, gloves, medical kit, road flares, reflective vest, blanket and funnel. Make sure your car jack and tire iron are in their proper place in your car's trunk. After you have gathered these items and put them in your old duffle bag, store it in your truck so its there when you need it. These items can prove to be invaluable to help you fix a minor problem and be on your way.

how much would it cost to take up the bottom of a wedding dress and put fabric in the back? it laces no beads?

me and my husband got married already, but we decided to have our wedding later. between this time we found out we were having a baby. now i'm five months and happy to say i havn't put on too much weight. just about three inches that the dress wont close, mostly because my boobs dont fit. anyways, i wonder how much it would be to put fabric in the back and take up the bottom, it's about 6 inches too long. the dress is pretty simple laces in the back but zips underneathe, i cant zip the dress tho. thats why i need the fabric. and it flares out at the bottom, with tool and chaffon well thanks.
o yeah and i bought it before i knew, duh!!! or else i wouldn't be asking. i'm not stupid. and i got the dress for half of half off so i got a good deal.

one of the things they have always said is that if you alter a dress too much, you will pay the cost of the dress, possibly more, to change it...

you should have bought more fabric if you knew of the wedding change.. so they would be from the same lot number..

find a reputable seamstress or tailor shop to go to.... they will tell you how much.. the more seams, the more expensive.. and they may not be able to do it at all...
