Should I buy the 2008 Ford Escape or wait for the 2009 Escape?

Currently Ford is offering $2500 rebate on 2008 Ford Escape. I am waiting for the 2009 Escape that is expected to hit showrooms later this summer. Do you think Ford will still be offering that kind of rebate on the 2009. Or are they just offering that kind of rebate on the 2008 because they need to make room for the 2009's?

If you can afford the 2009, I would wait for it. Ford did the redesign of the Escape gradually. For 2008, the restyled body appeared, but on essentially the same chassis as the previous design. For 2009, the Escape gets an updated chassis to complete the redesign. It should be a significantly better vehicle.
