Money was tight and I needed some new wheels to get me around. I did not have much money and could not really stretch that far, all I had was two thousand Euro to get myself sorted. It took a lot of looking around to find myself a second hand Ford Mondeo, bought it off a small dealer up in Lusk North Dublin. Exactly as advertised, good straight car, but needs tidying, low mileage for its age. A bit of haggling later, it was mine for one thousand five hundred Euro on the nose.

It was a tall list for my small budget. I was tempted to ring my local Ford Dealership in Kildare. But decided against it, lets be honest here, I would not get the alloys alone there never mind the rest of the list that would be too optimistic.

So what where my choices here? not a lot; then my friend told me why not try some of the local area breakers yard. What is that I said, well he answered, it is places that deal with damaged cars and they break them down and keep all the good parts and sell them on at vastly reduced prices. This sounded perfect to me.

A bit of searching around, four phone calls to be precise, I found a breaker yard in Wexford, that had a similar year Mondeo to me where the engine was gone, everything else was perfect. So I made the journey down the N11 and arrived there before lunch. I picked up a set of nearly new alloys, virtually scratch less, a nice CD player for the car (sweet some music at last), a WHOLE ne drivers seat and he threw in the gear stick and gator. All this was for five hundred Euros, Yes all it for Five hundred Euro, I could not believe it.

So after that I had a sparkling, great looking car on a shoestring budget.

What are the wires patterns for installing a cd player in a 92 ford escort?

I'm trying to install a cd player in my girlfriends car and i already accidentally cut off the clip part so all I have left is wires. Usually this would be no problem for me as I have installed a few cd players myself. On the Eclipse and Avenger the wires were the same colors as the wires connected to the cd player but the ones in the 92 Ford Escort hatchback are different. I don't think there is a red or yellow wire at all...so which is the power? I need help. Does anybody know which colored wires are for what in the Escort?

POLICE are appealing to the public who may have witnessed a car being driven dangerously and erratically in Letchworth GC on Sunday to contact them. The incident began at around 7.30pm when a silver Ford Escort convertible was stolen from Ickleford and driven to Letchworth GC.
