Here are some more information for Ford Thunderbird:

One of the available cars that can be rented is the 1952 Jaguar XK120. The Jaguar XK120 came out as one of the fastest standard production car. This vehicle runs at an impressive 120 mph or 193 km/h and even faster if the windscreen was removed.
Jaguar Cars Limited, the creators of the Jaguar XK120 is a luxury car manufacturer that is based on Coventry, England. It was founded in 1922 in Blackpool and was named as the Swallow Sidecar Company by two motorcycle enthusiasts, William Walmsley and William Lyons. In 1934 it changes its name to SS Cars Ltd in Coventry. The first time the SS Jaguar name first came out was on the 2.5 liter saloon in 1935. Then due to the lack of popularity of the SS from WWII, it was dropped in 1945 and became Jaguar Cars Ltd.
Throughout its history, the Jaguar passed through a series of ownership changes. In 1966 it merged with British Motor Corporation and the Austin-Morris to form British Motor Holdings. In 1968 it again merged with Leyland and became British Leyland Motor Corporation. In 1975 it became British Leyland Ltd.
And in 1984 it became a separate company on the stock market. Then it was purchased by Ford Motor Company in September 1989. And just recently on June 2 2008 Tata Motors of India bought the Jaguar from Ford Motor Company.
The 1952 Jaguar XK120 was a sports car manufactured between 1948 and 1954. It succeeded the SS 100 which ended its production after the start of World Wad II. It was launched at the 1948 London Motor Show as a test bed vehicle to highlight the new Jaguar XK engine. But the car became such a sensation that William Lyons was persuaded to put it into production as a standard model.
The first cars that were manufactured had hand built aluminum bodies on an ash frame. Its famous engine was the XK engine which had dual overhead cam 3.4 L straight-6 engine. The XK120 was available as a coupe, convertible, or an original roadster.
In January 1954, the XK120 coupe won the first 24 hour race held in Australia. In June 1954 a XK120 FHC won the first import win in NASCAR's first road race at Linden Airport New Jersey. In 1949 a publication called The Motor Magazine recorded an OTS roadster having a top speed of 124.6 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 10.0 seconds.
The Jaguar XK 120 is one of the historic and fastest car model from Jaguar Cars Ltd. It is a sports car and a luxury car in one, and that with a classic flair to it. Ford – All Car History Volume 6
Ford is the world's third largest carmaker when measured by vehicle sales. Other than Ford's own-branded businesses, the company owns one other major brand - Volvo, though it also owns one-third interest in Mazda and a small holding share in the former subsidiary Aston Martin.
Its former UK subsidiaries (Land Rover and Jaguar) were bought by Tata Motors of India in March 2008. In 2007, Ford became the third-ranked car-maker in US sales (being beaten by General Motors and Toyota). It was Ford’s first decline from second position in 56 years.
FORD HISTORY
Ford was launched in 1903. Henry Ford, the company's founder, revolutionized mass production by introducing methods for manufacturing cars on a large-scale using highly engineered manufacturing along travelling assembly lines.
In 1908, Ford introduced the legendary Model T and by 1920 production was over one million cars a year. In the 1950s, Ford introduced the legendary Thunderbird and in 1955 the disastrous Edsel. But Ford bounced back introducing its compact Ford Falcon in 1960 and the Mustang in 1964. By 1967, Ford of Europe was established, which builds some of the UK's most popular cars.

Burnt out power seat in a 1988 Ford Thunderbird
I have a 1988 Ford Thunderbird and she is lovely. But the power seat on the diver's side doesn't work. I don't care if the power seat works, but I can't currently reach the pedals. Is there a way to simply move the seat so it fits me without having to fix the power seat?
All the fuses are fine. I just need to move the seat.
I agree with the fuse deal..if that is indeed a 20 amp..
Also, check under the seat closely, CLOSELY, for the power connection. It may have become separated from agressive cleaning
or some other form of disconnect ( ie,, stuffing something under it )
You may also try bypassing the switch and have someone with some
technical experience bypass everthing right to the power seat itself.
At least you will be able to touch your pedals. That is a bit of prioirity
here..
Good Luck to you...
