1966 1967 gto handling?

i am thinking about buying a 66 or 67 gto/ lemans project . i saw a article on wikipedia saying tht these cars were very slow at turning at to me tht seems like a big inconvenience. is this true? how is the steering compared to other cars? are there any modern ways i could improve the handling and steering of this car and if so how much of i difference would it make? my second option is for a 66 67 chevelle. if you have owned one of these cars or have driven, or modified one like i have been asking please tell me about it. thnx

The "64" and "65" had a shorter wheelbase but a wider stance which meant better handling, but with the "66" and '67' he lengthened them and added more hp as well as stiffer springs and sway bars and along with the Bonnieville( fastest zero-60 production car made was the 1966 Bonneville 2+2, 421 eng. 4 spd and 4:56 rearend came in at 3.9 sec.
