How To Handle A Broken Car Window?

When dealing with your cars, some problems are easier to fix than others. For example, a broken headlight is something you can replace effortlessly. It's a lot more difficult for you to pull large dents out of body panels on your own. Fortunately, broken windows fall into the formers category. With a few simple tools and a little persistence, you can keep the elements on the outside of your car where they belong.

I have come up with these steps on how to easily replace your car windows. All you have to do is to follow these simple instructions and you will be able to replace your car window all by yourself.

1. Get rid of the largest pieces of glass from the broken window before proceeding. Vacuum any small pieces that you see.

2. Remove the door card, taking care not to puncture or tear the plastic moisture barrier you'll find underneath. You will likely need at least one screwdriver to remove it, and shop manuals unfortunately don't usually specify which. The screws will give you a hint if it's a flat head or a Philips which will lead you in removing them. Consult your shop manual for any specific directions regarding the door and window device. If any other tools are required, the shop manual should identify. Though, it's impossible that other tools are required for this kind of job. Be sure not to break or destroy the door card.

3. Next thing is to put the door card on your tarp. Draw a rough diagram of the door on a piece of cardboard. ??Next, tape any screws, bolts or other hardware you've removed from your door card to the cardboard diagram. You'll use the diagram to place the hardware exactly where it needs to go when reassembling the door. Remove the weather stripping from the top of your door.

4. Vacuum any remaining glass pieces out of the inside of the door. Do the same for the weather stripping.

5. Remember the position of the clips and bracket inside the door that will grip to your new glass. Replace the weather stripping.

6. Align the new piece of glass with the opening in the weather stripping. Gently move the glass all the way down to the channel in the door. Keep a close watch on how it moves down toward your lift mechanism. If anything is blocking the glass from reaching the lift mechanism, ease the glass back out and remove the blockage. Just continue in trying to slide the glass until it fits.

7. Test your window to make sure it works correctly before replacing the door card. Make any necessary modification. Replace your door card, and wash all the fingerprints off your new window.

Problems Bleeding brakes on 01' Ford E-150?

I have replaced EVERYTHING except ABS control module trying to resolve this issue. The cause of this problem, I think, is the fact that I disconnected the calipers for about a 3hr period until I had a chance to re-install the new ones. We have bleed the system enough to go through a lifetime supply of brake fluid, and still have a pedal that goes straight to the floor. Again, new wheel cylinders,calipers, and master cylinder, including ALL hardware have been replaced. We have primed the master cylinder in the vehicle twice with no air coming out on the second attempt. Is there a way to purge air out of the ABS control module without the NGS tester? Or, do I have to be concerned with the ABS control Module at all? The repair manual says not bleed it unless the lines connected to it have been replaced/removed, or if the unit itself had to be replaced. Please Advise.

sounds like theres still air trapped in the master cylinder itself what to do is have someone in the vehicle and you crack the lines at the master and have them push and hold the pedal until you tighten up the lines and repeat a couple times and then go one by one and gravity bleed every wheel that should help out and make sure the rear shoes are adjusted properly and make sure the calipers arent on upside down not calling you dumb but ive seen it happen DO NOT ATTEMPT to bleed the abs unit that will give u a bigger problem to deal with. make sure there is no leaks at all the fittings on the cyl.master and calipers good luck
