Here are some more information for Hose Jeep:

When your vehicle runs properly, it does so without calling attention to itself. Thus, when strange noises occur, they stand out. You might hear pinging, hissing, and screeching sounds coming from under your hood; you may hear squealing or scraping coming from your brakes; or you might hear a slapping sound that proves nearly impossible to track down.
You may be surprised by the number of automotive problems you can troubleshoot simply by listening to the noises coming from your car. In this article, we'll provide a quick overview of the most common. While the following guide may not help you diagnose a failing alternator or catalytic converter, it will shed light on many other issues.
Screeching From Beneath The Hood
You turn the key in the ignition, hear your engine roar to life, and then hear a high-pitched screeching. The problem may be due to a loose drive belt. Long ago, most vehicles had several belts that powered various accessories and components. For example, your water pump had a belt; your alternator had a belt; your air conditioner had a belt; and your power steering pump had a belt.
Today, most vehicles are built with a single serpentine belt that powers these and other components. If it becomes loose, it can slip from its position. This causes screeching.
Hissing From Beneath The Hood
Hissing is relatively easy to troubleshoot. Nine out of ten times, the culprit is a cracked or loose hose. Your vehicle's cooling system - notably, the radiator - is supported by several of these hoses, which are made of rubber. Over time, the rubber deteriorates, and begins to crack. When this occurs, you'll hear hissing.
Because these hoses support the cooling system, they are critical to your engine's health. Fortunately, they're relatively inexpensive and easy to replace.
Pinging In The Engine
This is a problem that can be triggered by several factors. First, the octane of the fuel in your engine may be too low, leading to erratic or late ignition. Second, poor ignition timing can cause pinging. This often occurs when one or more spark plugs fire too soon. A third factor is your cooling system. If it is failing to control the temperature surrounding your engine, the rising heat can cause this sound.
If you hear pinging, use fuel with a higher octane rating. Also, check the coolant level and its temperature (look at the coolant gauge). If the level is fine, but the temperature is higher than normal, have a mechanic inspect the cooling system.
Muted Slapping Near The Road
This noise can be frustrating to track down since it only occurs when your vehicle is moving, and tends to disappear when you stop. It's a pulsing sound, similar to a heartbeat. It happens more quickly as you accelerate, and slows down when your speed declines. The problem is usually in the tires.
Occasionally, a foreign object will become caught in the treads, and cause the slapping sound. More commonly, it is caused by a tear or bubble that has developed in the rubber (often, the sidewall). Unless the noise is caused by something caught in one of the treads, the best solution is to replace the tire.
Squealing Or Scraping From The Brake System
If you hear squealing coming from your brakes, don't assume the brake pads have worn down, and need to be replaced. While this might be the case, the squeal can also be caused by vibrations, even with new brake pads. Have them inspected to make sure they are in good condition. If they are worn, replace them.
A scraping or grinding noise suggests an immediate problem. The sound typically occurs when worn brake pads rub against the rotors. The pads definitely need to be replaced. But if you wait too long, you'll risk allowing the rotors to become damaged. Replacing them is far more expensive.
Learn to recognize the noises your vehicle makes. If you notice any that are unusual, use the guide above to track down the root cause.

Automotive Advertising Adversaries Announced
A car is only as good as it sells. That is why car manufacturers take efforts in the way they advertise their cars.
One marketing strategy is to showcase one’s car in a motor show. Some of the more famous motor shows in the world are the Detroit International Auto Show, the Tokyo Motor Show, and the currently ongoing Geneva International Auto Show. These events offer a place for car makers to strut their stuff to the media, to automotive experts, prospective buyers and the general public.
While events such as the aforementioned motor shows offer a place for auto makers to show off their goods, a limited number of people can really afford to come and see the show.
Another way to sell cars is through ad campaigns using the media and the Internet. Scion, the youth brand of Toyota, is the foremost car maker to use Web ad campaigns in the hopes of attracting the younger generation who are more commonly linked to the Web.
Car makers also launched ad campaigns on newspapers and the television. Different approaches have been used by the players in the auto industry to sell their vehicles. Volvo, for example, launched a Freewill ad campaign to promote their C30 and their ad centers on the love it/hate it story line.
Another approach being used on ad campaigns is the Challenge strategy. Ford is currently using this approach to promote the Ford Fusion.
In connection with the way ad campaigns are shaping the auto industry, IAG Research, the ad effectiveness TV ratings company, has announced that they will be giving advertising awards to car makers in connection with the forthcoming New York International Auto Show on April 4. The finalists for the advertising awards have already been announced recently. There are five categories in all and the awards are based on viewer response collected by IAG from more than 20 networks.
The finalists for the Most Effective Overall Ad for non-luxury vehicles are the Ford Escape Hybrid, the Volkswagen Jetta and the Volkswagen Passat. The Ford Escape Hybrid ad features Kermit the Frog who talks about being “green”. The Jetta ad, meanwhile, features an African-American male asking a white Jetta owner to teach him how to dance. And the VW Passat’s ad features women in the sedan being hit by another car.
On the other hand, the finalists for the Most Effective Overall Ad for luxury vehicles are the Lincoln Navigator, the Lexus LS 460, and the Hummer H3. The Navigator ad features Miami Heat superstar guard Dwayne Wade helping to build an inner city court. For the Lexus LS 460, the company opted to highlight the no-hands parallel parking ability of the luxury car. The Hummer H3 meanwhile was turned into a submarine by a man in its ad campaign.
Another category in the advertisement award is the Most Liked Ad both for luxury and non-luxury vehicles. The finalists which have captured the attention of audiences just like a Nissan brake shoe attracts the attention of auto enthusiasts are the Honda Pilot, the Jeep Wrangler and GM’s ad for their warranty. The Pilot’s ad features a troll stopping a family in the said SUV. Meanwhile, a lizard stares down at the Wrangler in the ad for the SUV. Cars flying above the street are featured on GM’s ad for their warranty.
The IAG will also give out an award for the Most Effective TV Launch Campaign for an Established Nameplate. The category’s finalists are the Nissan Sentra, the Lexus LS, and the Volkswagen Passat Wagon. The last category is for the Most Effective TV Launch Campaign for a New Nameplate. The finalists of the latter are the Dodge Nitro, the Nissan Versa, and the Toyota Yaris.

1994 Jeep Cherokee 4X4 Front Axle Hose Not Connected When I bought Truck?
I bought a 1994 Jeep Cherokee 4X4 4.0 Inline 6.
The 4X4 works but there is not idicator light and its hard to engage and disengage. I checked the linkage to see if it was stuck but its fine. I then noticed some kind of hose (I think vacuum) on the axle at the top of the round part (LOL) is not connected to anything. I am not sure where it goes but I am sure that its causing my problem.
I was told on a forum that it connectes on the right side of the axle with other vacuum lines but when I looked I did not see any other vacuum lines at all. I do not know if I overlooked them or what but I need to get this fixed. If anyone has a diagram or a idea that would be awesome. I have been trying to figure this out for hours and I cannot seem to. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi drag....Yes I have checked air, all the tires are the same and the wiring hook up on the transfer case is hooked up. I am not sure which case it is but I beleive its part time.
What else could cause this??
The answer you got about the axle disconnect is an honest answer, but not applicable to your year.
What you are looking at is the VENT for the differential. It prevents pressure build up due to heat. Just run it or extend it up as high as possible to keep water out of it. Sorry, that is not causing any problems.
Easy things first. Do you have all the same size tires? and all the same air pressure. Do you know what transfer case you have part time 4 wheel drive or combination with full time four wheel drive?
The indicator light is controlled by a switch in the side of the tranfer case. First, see if the wiring is not connected or damaged.
When you are trying to engage four wheel drive and come out..are you stationary or rolling slowly. Try rolling slowly next time and you MUST go going straight if you have part time four wheel drive. Note, part time four wheel drive if used on pavement will bind up and be difficult to get out. It is for loose ground only.
Get back if above does not help or you have additional information.
Good Luck
PS As far as hard to shift, the easy things are to check linkage for free movement, check condition of the oil in the case. Beyond that, you are talking about pulling the case for teardown and inspection. How hard is hard to engage?
Do you have a test light that can tell you if you are getting power to the switch at the transfer case? It is not unknown for that switch to fail, but check the wiring for power first. Then pull the switch, connect test meter to terminals or connect harness to terminals and manually depress the plunger.
Good Luck
