what type of steel would be able to stop a 30-06 round if made into a quarter inch plate?

I don't really know much about penetration resistance in metals, so any help is appretiated. If u know of another metal that could stop that round or even more at a thickness less than a quarter inch or if steel can't stop that round at a quarter inch, then please say so.
