How much should a 4 wheel brake job on a 2000 VW Jetta cost in Los Angeles?
I sure would not let a shop take advantage of you if you are not car savvy. Get a second opinion if you think something smells fishy.
Should not be over $300 for front and rear if all you need is pads and turned rotors. If you need new rotors, hoses, calipers and hardware it could set you back a lot more. Not likely that is the case though.
Most shops offer a free brake inspection. I cannot overemphasize getting a second opinion and not being sold a bill of goods at some goofy shop.

What things have gone wrong with the car? The serpentine belt, the ignition coils and basic brake oil and tire change. That's all. General comments?
