What is the best and quickest stretch to help you do a left, right, and center split?
I have less than 6 weeks to get all 3 splits down for dance class. My left split I'm about 4-6 inches off the ground and my center the same. My right split I'm about a foot off the ground. So what are some effective stretching techniques that would help me achieve my goal?? Thans in advance. (:
If it's just the splits you want, here is a great stretch specifically designed for that. Warm up a little first, that way your muscles move more easily, and then lay down flat on the ground, with a wall at your feet, with plenty of wall space. Spread your legs and push them to either side along the wall, pushing towards it with your hands until you are stretched as far as you can go. You will end looking like you are doing the splits against the wall, Parallel to the floor. This way you don't have to worry about balance. Do this every day and it's the quickest way to be able to do the splits. Just turn on your side and do the same thing on each leg for the front splits. I'm a Professional ballet dancer, and this is one of the first stretches I learned, and it is amazing. If you don't want to go on your stomach while doing this, it works on your back as well.
