Pterodactyl, which means 'winged finger,' were flying reptiles belonging to the Cretaceous Period. Pterodactyls had varied species ranging from the smallest having a wingspan of only about 20-30 inches and the largest with a wingspan of over 40 feet. Their hollow, air-filled bones, long skulls, curved neck, and small bodies made them exceptional at flight. With large brains and good eyesight, they preyed on fish, mollusks, and crab.

Here we provide you with the guidelines to draw the skeleton of a Pterodactyl.

Things You Will Need

1. Pencil

2. Paper/ Canvas

3. Colors (optional)

4. Paint Brush (Optional)

Directions:

1. Skull: Pterodactyls had an elongated jaw that resembled a beak.

i. Head: Draw a long upward curved line. On the right most end, draw another curved line inwards. Bring this line until the centre of the first drawn curved line. This is the head of the Pterodactyls.

ii. Upper Jaw: From the left most end of the first curved line, draw a straight line that should join the left end of the second curved line. The upper part of the jaw is ready.

iii. Lower Jaw: Draw a sharp triangle shape under the straight line for the lower jaw of the Pterodactyl.

iv. Eye & Nose Sockets: Draw a few asymmetrical circles to denote the eye and nose sockets.

2. Spinal Column

i. Neck Vertebrae: A Pterodactyl had a curved neck.

a) From the base of the lower jaw, draw a curved line.

b) Double up this to give dimension. Closely placed, draw small rectangular columns on the upper side.

c) Ensure the small rectangular shapes appear sharp and spiky at the edges.

ii. Ribs

a) From the center of the vertebrae column, draw long thin rectangular strips with pointed edges spreading across the spine section of the Pterodactyl.

3. Forelimbs: Pterodactyls had four fingered forelimbs - three clawed and the fourth one had an elongated membrane of skin, muscle, & tissues.

i. Draw a 'V' shaped line. Double it up.

ii. At the end of the 'V' shape, draw three clawed fingers, ensure they look long and pointed.

iii. Extend a line away from the forelimb for the fourth finger. Double it up.

iv. At short gaps, make few rectangular shapes on the limbs and shade it to depict joints.

Note: Draw a pair of forelimbs.

4. Hind Limbs

i. Draw a 'V' shaped line. Double it up.

ii. At the end of the 'V' shape, draw four clawed fingers.

Note: Draw a pair of hind limbs

5. Tail Vertebrae: The length of a Pterodactyls tail varied from no tail to a short, medium, or a very long tail.

i. Extend a curved line from the vertebrate.

ii. The length of the tail will depend on the species you are considering.

iii. Draw closely spaced rectangles on the tail to give it a skeletal effect.

Given the varied species of Pterodactyls, enhance it further using your creative imagination.

If you are not one for fashion, get a female friend to look at your wardrobe. Sisters or female cousins are great at this. Or if you have the funds the best bet is to get a fashion consultant, most of them don't charge but take a cut from the retailer. A fashion consultant will take you shopping and guide you into buy the right outfits for you.

You only need casual clothes for meeting a woman, no one wears a suit to go out on a date these days. Don't forget to have a decent looking pair of shoes. Women will always notice your shoes.

If you have to take yourself shopping, firstly go to the most expensive shops in town and get a feel for the fabrics, the colours and the styles that are in fashion. Then shop in the store that you can afford. This exercise will not only give you confidence but will ensure that you have a fair idea of what you want before you purchase.

you would solve it in the same way you would two linear equations.

if you have two linear equations such as y=6x+8 and y=3x+4 you would just multiply one by a factor and add the two together, e.g.

y=3x+4 ---(*-2)--> -2y=-6x+4

-2y=-6x+4
+ y= 6x +8
------------------------
-y= 0x + 12 -------> y= -12

in the same way

y+2z-4 =0 --(*-5)---> -5y-10z+20=0
