2002 Mercury Mountaineer AWD, 125k miles. Are there any things that they are know for going wrong in the future? How Long will they last for? Will it be a good first car, Ive had my license for a little while and driven my parents volvo s40, dodge dakota, and jeep grand cherokee.

personally I like the Mountaineer/explorer, but they are bad on gas, and after 100k lmiles, the repairs keep on coming...I always trusted Ford products, just because my faily has worked at the plants for generations, but some of them are bad..so beware...stick with lower mileage, and a 4cylinder vehicle..smaller the car, lower the costs...and dont buy foreign PLEASE!!! ITS KILLING MICHIGAN!!!
