Will the valves brake or bend after the timing belt breaks on a 92 Mitsubishi Mirage ?

While I was driving yesterday, I noticed smoke coming out of the hood of my car so, I immediately pulled over. I left the engine running and opened the hood, then a few seconds after that, the car turned off and the car made a squeaky nose and smoke came out of the timing belt cover.

Basically, I want to know if it's possible my valves could have taken any damage during all this.

If it's any help, I only tried to start the engine once after that.

It all depends really. The engine can actually blow up completely when the timing chain or belt breaks. I had this happen to a car before but I was driving it fast at the time so it is good your car was only running at idle. The problem is when the belt breaks the camshaft is no longer in sink with the crankshaft which means the valves can crash into the pistons. Best to bring your car to mechanic and have it checked before trying to start again. If everything is ok then it will just need to be re timed and a new timing belt.
