How can I reduce the sound of my drumsicks hitting the rubber pads of my electronic drum kit?

I'm no drummer, but I bet you'd just have to experiment with various soft things, mostly wrapped around the drumstick tips, and maybe some covering the drum trigger pads. Gauze, felt, maybe loosely-wrapped duct tape... Maybe you can find some really soft rubber/silicone about 1cm thick to place on the drums.

You probably know of practice pads... Maybe there are some thin enough to dampen the sound without impeding the MIDI triggering.

Or you can turn up the speakers to drown out the sound :^P
