Learning to ride the Trikke scooter is a lot of fun. Though not as easy as the experts make it look, learning to Trikke is still easier when you consider the learning curve and spills involved when compared to beginning skiing, roller-blading or bicycling. There's a much lower likelihood of falling due to the Trikke's inherent stability. And it's easier to learn because you're not fighting gravity while trying to coordinate your balance like you have to on roller blades, skis or a bicycle. You will be amazed at how quickly you get down the simple moves on your Trikke scooter within minutes of a little instruction and practice. That is of course, provided you start out on a flat smooth surface.

The literal and figurative description for riding your Trikke scooter is 'rock and roll'. This is neither the music nor the dance, but a depiction of the actual movement your body makes to move your Trikke scooter. But before getting too excited and jumping on your Trikke, be sure you've got the appropriate gear. Your helmet and gloves (and pads, if you choose) will keep you safer and prolong your enjoyment of the Trikke.

Choose a smooth, flat area, preferably vacant, to practice Trikke-ing. And make sure that your Trikke tire pressure remains at about 80 to 90 psi for the best riding experience.

After familiarizing yourself with your Trikke scooter, step on to the foot platforms and find a comfortable position. Stand upright and grip the handlebars firmly with both hands. Find your balance by distributing your weight evenly between the front and rear Trikke wheels while concentrating your weight on the balls of your feet and toes.

Now, propel your Trikke forward by 'rolling' or continuous twisting of the handlebars right and left. If you are on a slight incline and this doesn't work to get your Trikke going, push yourself off by kicking your foot into the pavement like you would if you were launching yourself on your typical scooter.

"Rolling" your Trikke scooter requires practice to perfect. This is why most beginning Trikkers prefer to practice downhill, which eliminates the need to push and allows them to get used to the feel of balancing while adjusting to the natural movement of their Trikke scooters. However, a word of caution: riding a steep downhill can be dangerous and you can lose control of your Trikke and end up face first in the dirt. If you want gravity to work for you instead of against you in your initial practice, choose long, gradual slopes to avoid accidents.

Once you're on the move, you can accelerate your Trikke scooter by pushing and leaning your weight on the handlebars side to side. Known as the "rocking" technique, this method will allow you to make a series of "S" turns. Just remember to angle your upper body into the inside of the turn the way you'd lean while riding a bicycle. Don't be afraid to test how much of your weight you can distribute on one side as you make your turn. Falls will rarely occur as long as you make sure that your Trikke steering column is also leaning to the same side. Keep practicing this technique until you establish a comfortable rhythm.

You can move your Trikke scooter faster by coordinating your feet with your upper body movement. When you're carving right, lift up your left heal and kick your left toe outward then forward into the stationary Trikke footplates. When you're carving left, lift up your right heal, and push off with your right toe. This technique allows the extra burst of speed on your Trikke.

The more you practice these techniques, the less you will need to concentrate. The more natural it becomes, the more fun you will have Trikke-ing. As they say, "Rock and Roll" my friend!

Develop a Formula 1 Mindset if You Want to Achieve Your Goals

Whether you enjoy watching Formula 1 racing or not, there is so much you can learn about life, goal achieving and what it takes to be a winner just from watching the sport. Someone once described life as a series of failures punctuated by successes. Many individuals become discouraged by setbacks rather than seeing them as learning experiences. Some are so discouraged, they vow they will never try that experience again whereas the attitude of a Formula 1 racer is "let me get back in the cockpit".

"Whenever you make a mistake or get knocked down by life, don't look back at it too long. Mistakes are life's way of teaching you. Your capacity for occasional blunders is inseparable from your capacity to reach your goals. No one wins them all, and your failures, when they happen, are just part of your growth. Shake off your blunders. How will you know your limits without an occasional failure? Never quit. Your turn will come."
Og Mandino, From A Better Way to Live

During the 2007 Grand Prix du Canada, Robert Kubica (Poland, BMW Sauber) suffered a horrific crash. Several networks reported that he had broken his leg but he was lucky enough to escape with a mild concussion and a sprained ankle - a testament to the improved safety of racing cars. Kubica was eager to drive in the United States Grand Prix in Indianapolis but his doctors advised against it and so he was forced to wait until the Grand Prix de France at Magny-Cours.

From the qualifying rounds, he allayed any fears that his accident had unsettled his nerves or dulled his desire for success. He drove well and he drove aggressively gaining himself a fourth position on the starting grid - his best for the season. Kubica held on to his fourth position finishing behind Lewis Hamilton (England, McClaren).

In the qualifying rounds of the Grand Prix of Europe at Nurburgring, Hamilton experienced his first crash in this his rookie season. A faulty wheel gun caused his right wheel to detach itself from his car. He was traveling at about 175mph at the time. For an agonizing 30-45s team boss Ron Dennis was out of contact with his young driver as car's radio had been rendered in operable during the impact.

Then Hamilton could be seen wriggling his legs before he climbed out of the cockpit but his legs then buckled under him. Later, as he was carried away on a stretcher with an oxygen mask covering his face and a drip hanging from his arm, he still managed to wave reassuringly to his supporters. He was quick to make it clear that he felt fine and that he wanted to take part in the main race.

"Let me drive," he said.

He was eventually given the all-clear to take part in what proved to be a chaotic race, made even more exciting by torrential rain. Kubica, too got caught up in the drama. His spinning BMW-Sauber punctured Hamilton's left rear tyre. The long and short of it, Hamilton came away empty-handed. Despite this he was smiling and philosophical especially as even though he failed to score any points, he still leads the drivers' table, albeit by a slim margin. Still, as Bob Proctor will tell you, the difference between being a winner or a loser is often as fine as a razor's edge.

Like Kubica, Hamilton loves racing. He loves winning, he's competitive and he loves learning. He admitted that he learnt a great deal from this experience which he will, no doubt, put into practice in subsequent races.

"I told you from day one that this was going to happen eventually, that it would be inevitable that I would not finish on the podium. So I was ready for it. You need to have these experiences, and this was all a big experience for me, and it's still not over. But I have learned 10 times as much today than in the last race."

So here are a few lessons about goal achieving one can learn from Formula 1:

1. Life is not a dress rehearsal - live it to the max
2. Play the game of life to win rather than play to lose
3. Consider life as a series of races and learn from each race
4. Be prepared for setbacks and learn from them
5. If you suffer a setback get back into the cockpit as soon as possible
6. Acknowledge that you will make mistakes and that this does not make you a failure
7. Celebrate your victories

And, above all, remember life is indeed a game - keep smiling!

How to access rear spark plugs on 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix?

Tried to change plugs earlier this month in shop class, fronts were easy, but the backs...I could not get them from the top of the car, or from underneath (on a lift). Is there an access panel somewhere?

What engine do you have the 3100 SFI or the 3.4L TWIN DUEL CAM?.
for the 3100 SFI engine you have to first go out and buy a something called a com-along it has two hooks on it and its used for tieing down stuff. You can use this to pull the engine forward to gain access to the back plugs. You first have to put the com-along on the engine their is a large cast iron loop by the air box its a good point to put the hook on then you need to get a thick rag to put on the front cross member to prevent it from getting scratched now you need to take to other hook and put it on the bottom lip of the cross member a good place is by the hood latch. now tighten the com along a little because when you take the front mounts off with out using the com-along the engine will fall back and hit the fire wall. now tighten the com-along and the engine will com toward you be careful not the bring the engine to close to the radiator fans. once you have done this you will have lots of room to get to the back plugs. and always remember to blow out the plugs with compressed air to remove any dirt that has accumulated on them this will prevent the dirt from getting in the engine when you take the plugs out. As for the 3.4L you need to take off the intake manifold just like on the Toyota V6's. The 3.4L is fast but its a pain to work on.
