Awesome engine... 4.0L V6 with an OHV design (Over Head Valve)... Its a very simple engine and Ford loves it!! The newer on (SOHC) is pretty much the same, except that it can brag about the minor HP increase.. I have a 94 Ford Explorer with 82K and a 93 Ford Explorer with 290K and both have NEVER required anything outside of there normal scheduled service. I used to own a 2000 Explorer with the V8 5.0L, god after 60L the engine had to be rebuilt! V6 4.0L all the way
