"Choate Machine & Tool Corporation" prototype boot knife. 7.9" overall length, with a 4" double edge blade The handle is shaped very much like the A.G. Russell Sting knife. Full tang design. Made of 440 Dendritic Steel (stainless steel dust compressed into finished blade) and a hard black covered handle with thong hole. Markings molded into handle: "CHOATE TOOL CORP", and on the other side, "MADE IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." With original unmarked leather boot/belt sheath.
Knife is in very good unused condition and is extremely sturdy, appears indestructible and doesn't rust AT ALL.

WHAT IVE HEARD

that it was Designed and tested in the 1980's as the ultimate knife for the U.S. Military and other Government agencies. Also, made for possible adaptation by the Navy SEALS, but never approved.but i Believe this knife never went into actual production.

With something this unusual its difficult establishing a price. E Bay Australia had one who's winning bid was $71 USD. So that would seem like the market value for one of these knives.

FWIW - The Government / SEAL story seems cool, but I doubt that is the real history behind this knife's development. Seems more like they wanted a steel version of their "CIA Letter Opener"
