How long should a standard Brake Shoe Set last?
The reason I ask is that I took my car (Ford Focus 1.8 TDi 1999) into National Tyres in November last year and they replaced the Brake Shoe Set but again in January this year they have replaced it again but they also used a Brake Fitting Kitt. Obviously I am going to ask them for a refund but i think there area manager is going to bull**** me.
How long should these parts last under normal usage? and why would they use a Brake Fitting Kit once but not the other time?
Please help the area manager is going to phone me soon !
Brake shoes should last about 60,000 miles or more, certainly more than a year anyway.
A brake shoe fitting kit consists of all the springs and retainers for the shoes but isn't always needed as the old ones can be reused.
