I have an STI and I raced a 745 bmw and lost. Do I just suck at driving or do I need to know more about mySTI?

I haven't driven my 07 wrx STI in months. I did ,however, drive it this spring break for a short period of time but I felt like I had to re learn how to drive it. I know it's super fast and I shouldn't be losing to a 745 bmw. Is it just my lack of practice? I wrecked it but not too bad a few parts had to be replaced...I don't think any serious damage occured but could that effect it's performance? Also how much power should I give to my back/front wheels when racing in a straight line.
fwi I have beaten some pretty wild cars with way more hp than mine...it's just been about 6 months since I have driven it...I just want to know if that can have a big effect.

How can you forget how to drive such a car man?
I would go for 60 front and 40 rear all time! for me i think its the best combination that would help you avoid under and over steering.
By the way just at your 1st and 2nd gear you Must smoke the hell out of a 745i. The STI is better in every aspect. Its a race car and not a luxury one.
I imagine your mistakes like changing gears at 4000 rpm and a lack of 3 to 5 seconds while shifting.
The STI must be pushed to the max peak of its power, its a beast and in a straight line its impossible to loose for a 745i!
I donno how much damage your car have, but i advice you to check the mechanics as soon as possible. No jokes with the turbos
