Why are there still new Mitsubishi EVO 9s out there vs Subaru WRX STI?

I am in central FL, and I notice that dealers still have several NEW 06 Mitsubishi EVO 9s. It's much harder finding a new 2007 Subaru WRX STI, since they get sold quicker. I am a prospective buyer and would like to have some input on this.

Why is this? Does the EVO have other 'achilles heels' other than the dreaded premature clutch wear? Is the STI the better car for the street and occasional track? The EVO is praised in all magazines and people as 'the car to have', yet the Subaru STI is the 'hard car to find'. Can anyone shed light on the subject? Thanks.

This is just a guess, but from what I have seen, it may have to do with the area you live in. I live in Maine, and I see about 5 STi's driving down the road evey single day, if not more. I know 3 people who own one. But, I have only seen 1 Mitsubishi EVO in the entire state! I frequently drive in the highest populated places in the state, and I am on the look out for these cars and have only seen 1.
But when I lived in Mesa, Arizona for a month, it was the complete opposite. I met someone the 1st day there that had an EVO. Also, I would see many of them speeding along the streets every day, and i still saw some STi's, but not nearly as many as the EVOs. So maybe Mitsubishi and Subaru have figured out where in the U.S. their cars sell the best, and stock them accordingly. Maybe the Northeast sells more STi's than the west, so they ship more to the northeast and less to the northwest.
That is my only guess.
