Here are some more information for Thunderbird Mustang:

The 1967 Ford Mustang is one of the most popular model of cars ever produced. The first Mustang was built in 1964 and by '67 it was already an American icon that would persist in the minds of muscle car enthusiasts for years to come. Today these cars are very popular among collectors and those who like to restore older cars. Other competitors would show up to compete with the 'Stang in the late 1960's including the Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Thunderbird. Fords original version of the pony car has always remained the most popular throughout its long decades of production.
The Mustangs produced for the 1967 model year are actually the design that Ford tries to replicate in it's newer models of the car since 2005. The overall style is one of the most distinct and recognizable as ever. Due to the fact that most of these cars have been overhauled in one way or another since they were released in '67 there are many different variations for consumers to purchase. There were however basic trim packages and engines offered that can still be found in many of these pony cars. Today's models still run off the same solid rear axle design as these beginning years utilized.
Body styles offered for 1967 include a convertible and coupe. The year would also mark the first redesign undertaken on this long lived muscle car. Ford decided to make the 'Stang both longer and wider. Overall the wheel base would remain the same but the grill opening was enlarged so that the car had a substantially more aggressive appearance. The fastback was also enhanced so that it extended entirely to the rear of the vehicle blending in with the trunk. All of the three packages offered included panel scoops placed on the rear side panels.
The 1967 Ford Mustang came with a new big block engine with 390 cubic inches. This newcomer produced 320 horsepower aided by four barrel carburetor. Both the intake and manifolds were made of solid cast iron, and a dual exhaust system. Other engines offered included a 271 horsepower V-8, and a smaller V-6 option. GT models came with the 320 horsepower engine as standard equipment and the smaller V-8 as optional equipment.
Other notable features include the introduction of a dual hydraulic system with front disc brakes that had power assist technology. For '67 the front suspension was also entirely revamped so that the car would have a substantially smoother ride compared with the very stiff original models. The rear suspension would remain very stiff over the years and actually remains relatively similar today to the original models ride quality.
Trim packages offered for this pony car included a standard level trim, GT, and GTA. The standard level package came equipped with very few extra amenities. Consumers looking for a little more luxury from one of these cars could consider a GT package which offered fog lamps, chrome accents, and many other features. GTA models retain the luxury style features of the regular GTs except they utilize an automatic transmission.
The 1967 Ford Mustang was also overhauled on the inside as well. With a new dash and air conditioning it was one of the most comfortable cars to drive of that era. With the power and performance, combined with luxury features this is one of the most popular pony cars of yesteryear for a reason.

would a 84 thunderbird engine fit into a 92 mustang shell?
84 tbird engine in 92 mustange coupe???????
automatic v6 3.8 liter engine
If it was a manual all you would have to do is change the motor mounts, and some tinkering.
If it was an automatic, you wouldn't be able to reuse the 92 mustang tranny because the mustang trans is electronic, and the 84 auto is cable shifted.
