Are Sata hard drives any different from UDMA or OEM?

Im building a computer and the computer specifications say it supports UDMA type hard drives, but i cant find any so i was just going to get SATA and i was wandering if they would be a problem there?

Firstly, you need to determine that the chipset on the board supports sata along with the connectors. Sata uses low profile cables that supposedly improves the airflow inside the case which means the components that run hot will benefit from that.
The first incarnation of sata had a higher data transfer rate (bandwidth) compared to the fastest version of IDE hdds (UDMA ATA133). To date, I've not worked with any sata drives or hardware related to sata, bu I know that sata 1 can support data transfer rates up to 150MB/s compared to UDMA133 133MB/s. Overall it's better for someone who's loading data intensive apps and games because the load times will be faster.
