What are the best best type of subs, dash unit, amps, etc... that u can buy?

I'm getting a system for Christmas, just would like to know whats the top brands.

Alpine is usually considered the best in head units..their are also brands like McIntosh Nackamichi but they cost a lot and don't even play MP3's ..subs JL is usually considered the standard but some people prefer Audioque DB drivers Atomic Subs...Amps Arc Audio are suppose to be the best but are super expensive too Alpine makes good amps and Crossfire claims they have some amps that will compete with Arc Audio at a cheaper price....
