Here are some more information for Van Brake:

I drive a Mazda MPS. They are notorious for brake dust build up on the front wheels so I can safely say I know the problem some people have keeping their wheels clean. The brake dust quickly re-appears after washing, and in no time your wheels are discoloured again. If this is allowed to remain on your wheels for an extended amount of time, it can actually alter the colour permanently!
There are a few various car care products on the market to protect your wheels against brake dust. Mostly waxes that have a very poor durability due to the heat generated from the brakes. And many products also require a lot of work to with pre-cleaning and the application is an effort in itself.
Prima have developed a revolutionary product called "Wheel Armour". Wheel Armour ticks all the boxes when it comes to protecting your wheels from brake dust. It is a synthetic product designed to resist extreme temperatures for superior durability, and the application is so simple even a beginner in car detailing can use it.
Prima Wheel Armour is what is known in the car care industry as an "All-In-One" product. That means, it doesn't require any prepping of the surface prior to application. It polishes, cleans, and protects "All-In-One" application. To apply Wheel Armour you just wash and dry your wheels as per normal, add a small amount to a cloth or applicator and wipe onto the surface. The product dries after about 30 seconds, then with a clean cloth you wipe it off. Brake dust literally falls off your wheels for months. Not weeks. A quick swipe of a dirty wheel reveals a sparkling clean surface underneath.
When testing Prima Wheel Armour we discovered that cleaning your wheels was actually best done dry. That is, before you wash your car get an older rag or microfibre cloth and quickly wipe the dust free. Although the brake dust still appears to be on the surface it actually hasn't been able to bond with the surface due to the sealant underneath! When water was added to the equation this turned the dust into what is best described as a "sludge" which then require a little extra work to remove.
About anti lock brakes on Nissan vans
When you go shopping for your Nissan van, you find that most brands of vans come with an anti-lock braking system, or an option for use in the van. The reason for this is most van buyers consider it a necessity to have anti lock braking systems in the van they buy.
This is because these brakes give the driver control over the vehicle when coming to a sudden stop. These brakes work using calculated, rapid pumping actions that prevent any locking of wheels with a sudden stop. So beneficial is this technology to the vehicular market that it is rated the number one automobile innovation in recent years.
It is with the help of computer controlled speed sensors that sudden deceleration is detected by the brakes which consequently get activated just before the point of locking up of the wheels.
How ABS system prevent skidding
With rapid release and application of pressure to the brake system in quick intervals, this brake system lets the tires decelerate at the same rate of the vehicle. This is what prevents skidding and lets the driver steer away from any obstacles. Without this brake, the vehicle loses traction wherein the driver is at the control of the vehicle and whatever comes in its path.
Though the ABS helps in preventing accidents, if the driver does not know how to correctly use the brakes in times of skids, there may not be any benefit from the brakes. It is important that you never pump the anti lock brakes in your Nissan van.
Different types of ABS systems
Instead, you have to constantly pressure the brake pedal while keeping a firm grip on the steering wheel. This lets you control the direction of the vehicle and the brake, stop the van.
However when you go about buying your Nissan van with an ABS, you have to know that not all ABS systems are similar. Some of these systems have a speed sensor and valves connected to each of the four wheels of the vehicle. Then there are some systems that have only one valve and sensor for both the rear wheels.
So before you actually invest in an ABS system, it is better that you go through the owner’s manual so that you get to know about the type of ABS system installed in the Nissan van you choose.

Ford windstar van - emergency brake light?
I have a 2005 ford windstar van. About every 4th or 5th time I crank it - the emergency brake light stays on even after the brake has been released. If you put the car in park, turn it off and re-crank it then it goes off. What could this be?
Does it have anti-lock brakes? that sometimes triggers the brake light.. other possibilities are sticking ignition switch, or bad brakelight/neutral safety switch...
Not likely to be a hydraulic problem as it would then, stay on all the time,
Putting it in park suggests NS/BL switch...
